YouTube Laying Off 100 Members of Creator Partnerships Team

YouTube is undergoing a major “restructing”, with changes to creator management and operations teams, resulting in around 100 roles being eliminated— including youtube parters.
This was expected, but still a surporse. The reorganization is following a strategy outlined by Mary Ellen Coe, YouTube's chief business officer, who took over in early 2023.
What does this man ? Content creator management teams will be centralized in each individual country, aiming to better support creators and scale core, country-specific teams.
How doest this affect creators? YouTube is consolidating music teams into a global force reporting to Google/YouTube's head of music and combining various sports, media, film, and TV teams into a single global team.
What next? The support team is being split into creator-facing and customer/user-facing teams to provide more specialized support and streamline YouTube's business as it handles a growing creator base and new technologies.

Sports Illustrated's publisher, The Arena Group, has cut the team, if not all, of the magazine's staff.
The layoffs come after the publisher announced a significant reduction in its workforce and Authentic Brands Group terminated Arena's license to publish Sports Illustrated.
Despite the layoffs, ABG has stated that Sports Illustrated will continue, but the details of its future are uncertain.
